December 2019 New York Buildings For Sale


Buildings For Sale:

The M&M’s store in Times Square is up for sale with an asking price of $200 million. Sherwood Equities put its 27,000-square-foot retail condo at the base of 1600 Broadway on the market.

Buildings Sold:

Shimizu Realty Development acquired the Albano building located at 305 East 46th street for $152 million. The seller was the Vanbarton Group. Vanbarton had owned the 16-story building since 2018, when the firm acquired it for $117 million.

Unizo Holdings sold 685 Third Avenue to BentallGreenOak in the mid $400 million range. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority is selling its 40-story office building at 330 Madison Avenue to the German reinsurance firm Munich RE. Munich RE has a contract to buy the 1960s-era high rise for a price between $850 million and $900 million.

Claremont Companies has purchased a Marriott in Soho for $59.35 million from an LLC that lists Hok Kit Lou as its managing member. The building is located at 181 Varick Street and is 19 stories tall and about 52,000 square feet.

A LLC from Qatar purchased seven commercial condo units at 2 East 55th Street from Sarah Hays for $12 million. The building is 20 stories tall with 48 units.

An LLC signed to Brooklyn’s Xiaoling Huang purchased a three-story property at 91 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side from Win Sun Enterprise for $12.3 million.

The New York Times plans to buy back its headquarters at 620 Eighth Avenue for $245 million. The Times purchased the 52-story building for $619 million. It entered into a sale-leaseback agreement and raised $225 million. The agreement included a 2019 option to buy back the building.
