Following the German invasion of the Netherlands in 1940, the Holland House played a role in supporting relief efforts. By 1946, Eastern Airlines became a prominent tenant, leading to the commissioning of murals by artist Dean Cornwell. These murals, titled Night Flight, New World Unity, and Day Flight, depicted the evolution of transportation from historical antecedents to modern air travel.
