The B. F. Goodrich Company Building at 1780 Broadway in Manhattan was constructed in 1909 as the New York headquarters for the American tire manufacturer. Designed by Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, the 12-story structure features red brick and limestone facades with stylized ornamentation blending Elizabethan, Jacobean, Arts and Crafts, and Vienna Secession influences.

Originally housing tire showrooms, offices, and automotive repair facilities, the building became a hub for automobile-related businesses during Manhattan's early 20th-century "Automobile Row" era. The landmarked upper floors retain original materials and decorative elements, including polychrome terra-cotta garlands and granite window framing.

In the 21st century, the preserved façade was incorporated into the base of Central Park Tower (Nordstrom Tower), with restoration work including granite column replacements, limestone repairs, and historically accurate bronze/iron storefronts. The adaptive reuse maintains Shaw’s distinctive architectural legacy while anchoring the supertall residential development.
