In the mid-20th century, the building underwent renovations that diminished some of its original architectural prominence, especially along the avenue frontage. However, recent restoration efforts have focused on renewing the building's base and lobby, including the removal of a 1960s vestibule to extend the lobby space. These restorations have brought back original design elements such as travertine walls, Tennessee Pink marble floors, and introduced a new barrel vault ceiling highlighted by a cross vault, reestablishing the building’s distinguished appearance in the Fashion District.
