Designed by the architectural firm Harrison, Abramovitz & Harris, with Wallace Harrison as the lead architect, the building was constructed between 1967 and 1971. It is part of the later Rockefeller Center expansion, known as the "XYZ Buildings," with plans first drawn in 1963.
This 54-story, International Style skyscraper is the tallest along the Avenue of the Americas, featuring a seven-story base with a recessed plaza that includes a spacious two-tiered pool and fountains overlooking Sixth Avenue.
