39 Broadway in Manhattan, New York City, is a historic site notably recognized as the former location of the Alexander Macomb Mansion, which served as the second U.S. Presidential Mansion. President George Washington lived there during 1790 when New York City was the national capital.

The current building, known as the Harriman Building, is a 37-story office skyscraper completed in 1928. It was designed by the architectural firm Cross & Cross and constructed by the George A. Fuller Company, notable for building the Flatiron Building. The Harriman Building stands approximately 462 feet tall and has a frontage of about 90 feet on Broadway, extending to Trinity Place.

The site has a rich history: after the American Revolution, Alexander Macomb, a merchant and land speculator, built a large four-story residence there between 1786 and 1788. This residence is where President Washington resided from February to August 1790. The house featured spacious rooms with views over the Hudson River and served as a focal point of the presidential household.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, several neoclassical and mid-rise buildings occupied the site until the Harriman Building was erected in the late 1920s.
