The Socony–Mobil Building, located at 150 East 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York City, was constructed between 1954 and 1956. It was designed by the architectural firm Harrison & Abramovitz in the International and Moderne styles. The structure consists of a three-story base with a primary entrance on 42nd Street and a secondary entrance on Lexington Avenue. Above the base is a 42-story tower, flanked by wings that rise to the 13th story. The building was developed as a speculative project by Peter B. Ruffin, with Socony-Vacuum (later Mobil) as the anchor tenant, occupying nearly half of the structure.

The building was renamed the Mobil Building in 1966 and was designated a New York City landmark in 2003. It features over 7,000 embossed stainless steel panels, designed to create a surface that can be easily cleaned by rain.
