尼克博克信托公司的历史因其在1913年联邦储备系统成立前金融衰退中的角色而著名。该公司在银行危机期间面临倒闭，但很快重开，并全额支付存款人本金和利息。1912年，尼克博克信托公司与哥伦比亚信托公司合并，成立了哥伦比亚-尼克博克信托公司，1923年被欧文信托公司收购，最终于1989年成为纽约银行的一部分。
